ABOUT

I began my yoga practice in earnest in 2003 as a young mother juggling the demands of work, school and single parenting, and just generally feeling anxious and overwhelmed. As many practitioners have experienced, yoga practice truly saved me and gave me a liferaft in a time when I desperately needed tools to keep me afloat. It was true then, and it has been true ever since. When I needed it most, yoga helped me to tune out the noise from the outside world, steady my breath, and get my feet planted on solid ground. For even a few hours a week, instead of rushing from one thing to the next, I was focused, calm, at ease. This was a state of being that I came to recognize as my true nature, and I believe it is available to all of us. This is why I practice, and also why I teach.

Having experienced firsthand the transformative power of yoga and mindfulness, I am deeply committed to helping students develop practices of self-inquiry, self-care, and personal growth. I encourage students to tune in and listen to their bodies and hearts- both the gross and subtle levels of experience- to connect with their innate wisdom and strength. I show up as I am, and through this, I hope to inspire students to honor their present states of being while remaining open to what is yet to come.

I am student first and foremost. I have explored various lineages from the classical traditions to contemporary teachings of yoga, weaving elements of each into my own practice and classes, particularly studying in the yin, restorative, and vinyasa traditions. I am deeply grateful to the many wise teachers I’ve had the privilege of learning from and continue to be humbled by the abundance of wisdom that yoga offers.

We all need guidance along the path, and I also believe that you are your own greatest teacher. My role is to hold space for you to come into presence with whatever is unfolding—whether you’re feeling your best or navigating periods of struggle. This is where the work begins: when we consistently show up for ourselves, we create space for transformation and allow our inner guidance to lead the way.
